Karl Hinger currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Brookfield Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA). From a young age, he has been dedicated to serving his community through his involvement with his church and the Boy Scouts. After achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and graduating from New Milford High School, Karl attended Western Connecticut State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science. Outside of his studies, Karl continued his commitment to public service by participating in various community theater productions across Connecticut. In 2021, Karl took his passion for community service to the next level by successfully running for the ZBA. Inspired by the kind hearts and sharp minds of his mentors—his Scoutmaster, the late Joseph Vita; his professor, Dr. Howell Williams; and many others—Karl is once again ready to stand up in service to his community and help guide Brookfield toward a brighter future.

My Top Issues

My Background

My Background

  • Protect Brookfield's natural beauty and charm by limiting high-density development.
  •  Curb unnecessary spending and limit borrowing to prevent tax increases, easing the financial strain on residents (especially seniors) facing a rising cost of living.
  •  Ensure residents are informed and that their voices are heard. By promoting community engagement we can work together to build a better Brookfield.
